Project Background & Existing Challenges

The customer was operating GN3021/3025 thermoforming machines. As product updates in the local market became more frequent, several limitations of the existing production setup became more apparent:

• The original equipment required a relatively high investment. Because automatic stacking had not been included, finished products had to be removed and stacked manually, resulting in lower efficiency and higher labor costs.
• Molds for the existing GN equipment were expensive to produce, making it more costly to keep pace with frequent product changes.
• The customer was also concerned about long-term technical and after-sales support following changes to the original equipment brand and its global service network.

Project Timeline

Amtop first met the customer at an industry exhibition in 2025. Following the exhibition, the customer visited China for an on-site factory inspection, sample trials, and equipment comparison. After confirming mold compatibility, the customer verified that the HY-63/78 could accommodate its existing GN molds and ordered two machines to expand current production, fulfill additional orders, and support development in new markets.

Customized Solution

• Automatic Robotic Stacking: Configured with automatic robotic stacking to address the lack of automatic stacking on the customer’s existing equipment. This reduces manual product handling and associated labor requirements.
• Compatibility with Existing Molds: The machine can accommodate the customer’s existing GN3021 molds, while new molds can be developed at a lower cost.

Project Outcome

The two HY-63/78 single-station plastic thermoforming machines supplemented the customer’s existing production capacity for transparent plastic packaging. Automatic counting and stacking reduced the amount of manual handling required during production.

By retaining compatibility with existing molds and offering a more flexible approach to new mold development, the new equipment helped reduce the customer’s equipment, tooling, and labor investment while improving its ability to develop new products and take on additional orders.
