The customer already operated vacuum forming equipment to produce cable packaging trays but relied entirely on externally sourced sheet. At the same time, they also faced the following challenges:

• Fluctuations in the lead time and price of purchased sheet affected production planning and capacity expansion.
• Vacuum forming generated significant trim waste, and the existing disposal method did not effectively reuse it, resulting in limited material utilization.
• The customer had no previous experience in sheet extrusion and was concerned about equipment commissioning, process control, and operator training.

Project Timeline

• Early 2025: The customer submitted an online inquiry and held several rounds of technical discussions with Amtop.
• October 2025: The customer formally placed the equipment order.
• 2026: The plastic sheet extruder was delivered, and Amtop engineers provided on-site installation, commissioning, and complete hands-on training to support a smooth production startup.

Customized Solution

• The extrusion line supports both PP and PS, allowing the customer to produce sheet in-house for its existing vacuum forming equipment and reduce reliance on external sheet suppliers.
• Trim waste from the forming process can be reintroduced into production for re-extrusion, helping reduce raw material waste.
• The plastic sheet extruder was supplied as a complete solution with simplified operation for a customer with no previous extrusion experience, reducing the learning curve for operators.
• Amtop engineers provided on-site installation, commissioning, and training, covering equipment setup, process adjustment, and operator instruction.
